Elena Snow is your neighborhood multi-hyphenate classical performer, photographer and arts educator based in the Boston area. She is currently on faculty for the Holden Voice Program at Harvard University and Concord Carlisle High School. She also teaches a private voice studio for all ages and abilities from her home in Medford, Mass. She is a regular performer in Boston and greater New England’s operas, oratorios, choruses and more.

A 2016 Masters of Music graduate of the New England Conservatory, Elena received her Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University's School of Music in Chicago, where she sang several roles including Amore in Monteverdi's Poppea and Nancy in Britten's Albert Herring. She has performed as a member of the Boston Lyric Opera Chorus, Boston Baroque, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Chicago Opera Theatre, as an Apprentice Artist for Sarasota Opera and for Caramoor Opera. Elena has been the recipient of several awards in the past few years, including placing in both the 2013 and 2015 Bel Canto Competitions as well as placing in the finals of the 2016 Handel Aria Competition and 2017 Classical Singer Competition. Past roles here in Boston include the title role of Rossini's Cenerentola for NEC's Outreach Opera Program, Nerone in Handel's comic opera Agrippina, Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte, and Bradamante in Handel's Alcina with Opera Del West. Summer 2017 brought Elena to her hometown of Chicago as a Project Inclusion Fellow with the Grant Park Symphony and in the fall of 2018. Elena, joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera Guild as a teaching artist, working with elementary age students to bring opera to life at an early age. In the summer of 2018, Elena studied at the Snape Maltings Festival as a Britten Pears Young Aritst and performed as a Resident Artist for the inaugural season of Teatro Nuovo at SUNY Purchase. In 2021, Elena covered the role of Rosina with Teatro Nuovo with performances taking place at the Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park.  Elena is a regular contributor to the sacred music community in Boston, including Church of the Advent and Boston University's Marsh Chapel Choir.  She is a staff singer at Lexington’s historic Pilgrim Congregational Church where she has performed several solo recitals as well. 

Since earning her Master’s degree in opera performance in 2016, Elena Snow has continually sought ways to serve the arts community beyond performing. As a private voice teacher, she is currently on faculty at Harvard University as well as serves as a teaching fellow for the choral program. An elementary and middle school general and choral music educator since 2017, she has found immense joy in introducing young students to music and the dramatic arts. Elena is deeply committed to creating inclusive learning environments, consistently adapting her teaching methods to support neurodivergent students and those with disabilities. She views each new lesson plan as an opportunity for growth and is continually inspired by her students' creativity and resilience. Passionate about advancing diversity and equity in the music world, Elena uses her skills as a performer, educator, and native Spanish speaker to make art more inclusive, impactful, and meaningful for all.

As a committed life-long learner herself, Elena is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS.) Fascinated with the the neuroscience of music, she is also an avid researcher of vocal pedagogy and sound cognition and is a member of the Society for Music Perception and Cognition (SMPC.)

As a photographer, Elena received her degree from DePaul University where she began capturing portraits of her actor and singer friends. What started as a creative outlet quickly evolved into a side hustle and then a thriving career. Committed to honing her craft, Elena pursued independent courses and continued her studies, developing a keen eye for expressive, authentic imagery. Today, Elena regularly photographs singers, actors, artists, and other professionals to provide them with high quality, polished and unique images. She also welcomes the opportunity to work with families, offering specialized photography services for newborn photos, graduation portraits, student headshots, and more.

Elena lives with her partner, conductor Max Evrard, their toddler and two dumb dogs.
